In science we learn that things must be studied, measurements taken, experiments repeated, facts checked and rechecked, and proofs verified by independent researchers before someone can claim to "know" something is true. In church we learn that a person can stand up before a large audience and make the most outrageous claims with no proof other than "it was written in a book two thousand years ago". Or no proof at all! Maybe a "God told me so."
Most scientist tend to agree on the major tenents and that rational discussion leads to logical conclusions and consences about what is true and what is myth. Science for the most part is agreed on by scientists. There is one science.
Conversely there are thousands of religions and more being created each day.
